Fine Forgiveness for Kids and Teens!

Libraries help kids and teens succeed in school and in life.

That’s why Queens Library, The New York Public Library, and Brooklyn Public Library are pleased to announce a one-time fine amnesty for youth.

For one time only, on Thursday, October 19, we are forgiving ALL fines on ALL kids’ & teens’ (17 years and under) library cards!

More than 160,000 kids and teens will get a new start today.

Plus, kids and teens can join us for Welcome programs at libraries throughout Queens! We look forward to seeing our young customers at these exciting events.

Young Queens Library customers can also take advantage of Read Down Your Fees, an ongoing fine forgiveness program that enables young people to reduce their fines by reading in the library to earn ”library bucks.” Library bucks are then credited against any outstanding fines to encourage reading and increase access to the Library’s collections.

Visit our special Fine Amnesty webpage or your local community library for more information.

This fine amnesty initiative is made possible by The JPB Foundation.
