Learn how to turn on your computer and write an email to someone. 7/12 - Introduction to the computer; 7/19 - Navigating the Internet; 7/26- Creating your own email account. Customers are encouraged to attend all three classes. Preregistration is required in person at the Cyber Center Reference Desk beginning Saturday, July 12 at 9:00AM.

Customers should have basic computer skills, such as being able to use the keyboard and mouse, and open and close applications, and are encouraged to attend all three classes. In part 1, Peruvian-born teacher and cook Gianina Enriquez will demonstrate how to make three classics of the Peruvian kitchen; food is limited and available first come, first served. In part 2, Grupo Wayno will play Andean music of Peru.

New Americans Program offers Cultural Arts programs celebrating the arts and literature of ethnic groups in Queens communities. Programs are presented in the Central Library and in community libraries. Offerings include music, dance, drama performances, bilingual poetry and storytelling. Cultural arts programs are bilingual in English and the language of the culture being showcased.
New Americans Program offers Copings Skills workshops: lectures and workshops to help immigrants adjust to life in America presented in selected community libraries as well as the Central Library. Programs are presented in English and in the major immigrant languages of Queens by lawyers, teachers, counselors and other professionals. Topics presented include immigration law, becoming a citizen, tenants rights, career planning, starting a business, parenting, education and health.
