This is a special meeting of the Steinway Knit and Crochet Club. Drop by any time between 6:00 and 7:30PM. Bring your knitting or crocheting project and enjoy a social evening with fellow crafters. For adults and teens 13 and up.

Free Legal Services

Location: Steinway
Registration: Not required

If you are 15-33 years old, you may be eligible for free immigration services, including counseling on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA), U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residence and other types of special immigration status. Come to this program to learn more.

Cultural Programs

New Americans Program offers Cultural Arts programs celebrating the arts and literature of ethnic groups in Queens communities. Programs are presented in the Central Library and in community libraries. Offerings include music, dance, drama performances, bilingual poetry and storytelling. Cultural arts programs are bilingual in English and the language of the culture being showcased.


Coping Skills

New Americans Program offers Copings Skills workshops: lectures and workshops to help immigrants adjust to life in America presented in selected community libraries as well as the Central Library. Programs are presented in English and in the major immigrant languages of Queens by lawyers, teachers, counselors and other professionals. Topics presented include immigration law, becoming a citizen, tenants rights, career planning, starting a business, parenting, education and health.
