Introduction to Computers

This tutorial presumes that you have little or no computer experience. It covers the topics such as the parts of a computer, computer terminology, disk drives, using the mouse, purchasing a computer, and care and feeding of your computer.

ShapeUp NYC: Dance Fitness

Downloading Material with Your Google Tablet

Bring your Google tablet and learn how to download eBooks, magazines, music and more. You must have a valid Queens Library card and an Adobe ID to participate. Preregistration is required.

Find multicultural web sites, English classes, citizenship classes, immigrant-serving agencies, demographics and more.


Cultural Programs

New Americans Program offers Cultural Arts programs celebrating the arts and literature of ethnic groups in Queens communities. Programs are presented in the Central Library and in community libraries. Offerings include music, dance, drama performances, bilingual poetry and storytelling. Cultural arts programs are bilingual in English and the language of the culture being showcased.


Coping Skills

New Americans Program offers Copings Skills workshops: lectures and workshops to help immigrants adjust to life in America presented in selected community libraries as well as the Central Library. Programs are presented in English and in the major immigrant languages of Queens by lawyers, teachers, counselors and other professionals. Topics presented include immigration law, becoming a citizen, tenants rights, career planning, starting a business, parenting, education and health.
