3D Printing Workshop

Location: Arverne

Students will learn how to incorporate 3D design principles into 3D printing, use 3D design software to create objects and see a 3D printer in operation. Each participant will also receive a 3D printing manual for practicing newly-learned skills at home.

Season of Light: An Art Workshop for Children

Children ages 6-12 will design an original, one-of -a kind holiday ornament inspired by Chanukah, Kwanzaa or Christmas.

Cultural Programs

New Americans Program offers Cultural Arts programs celebrating the arts and literature of ethnic groups in Queens communities. Programs are presented in the Central Library and in community libraries. Offerings include music, dance, drama performances, bilingual poetry and storytelling. Cultural arts programs are bilingual in English and the language of the culture being showcased.


Coping Skills

New Americans Program offers Copings Skills workshops: lectures and workshops to help immigrants adjust to life in America presented in selected community libraries as well as the Central Library. Programs are presented in English and in the major immigrant languages of Queens by lawyers, teachers, counselors and other professionals. Topics presented include immigration law, becoming a citizen, tenants rights, career planning, starting a business, parenting, education and health.
