Availability: 18 openings

Bring your own cards (official and no Japanese versions or stall decks) to compete in our tournament for young people in grades 5-12. The winner will receive a booster pack or a choice of a limited edition card. Preregistration is required. There are only 32 spots, so sign up early; latecomers will be placed on a waiting list.

Smart Smartphone Use

In part 1, teens will learn how to download Queens Library's e-material applications for Apple and Android to their devices and upload the materials in a user-friendly environment. In part 2, teens will learn how to add to Apple iOS and Android devices New York museum apps such as the "New York Museum Guide," "Dinosaurs: American Museum of Natural History Collection" and Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA apps.

Cultural Programs

New Americans Program offers Cultural Arts programs celebrating the arts and literature of ethnic groups in Queens communities. Programs are presented in the Central Library and in community libraries. Offerings include music, dance, drama performances, bilingual poetry and storytelling. Cultural arts programs are bilingual in English and the language of the culture being showcased.


Coping Skills

New Americans Program offers Copings Skills workshops: lectures and workshops to help immigrants adjust to life in America presented in selected community libraries as well as the Central Library. Programs are presented in English and in the major immigrant languages of Queens by lawyers, teachers, counselors and other professionals. Topics presented include immigration law, becoming a citizen, tenants rights, career planning, starting a business, parenting, education and health.
