Senior Manager of Annual Giving

The Queens Library Foundation (QLF) is a 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds for the programs, services, and materials for Queens Library.

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Queens Library Foundation, the Senior Manager of Annual Giving is responsible for key functions of an expanding and donor-centered acquisition and low to mid-level gifts program. The two key areas of responsibility include: Individual Giving, and Gala & Special Events.


Individual Giving

  • With the Executive Director and Individual Giving staff, implements all annual fund activities and programs. This includes cultivation and solicitation of: acquisition, lower and mid-level donors and prospects.
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards a donor portfolio.
  • Works with the Individual Giving team on the donor pipeline program (with an emphasis on securing a significant number of new gifts and gift upgrades through a strategic and aggressive approach to personal cultivation and solicitation).
  • Oversees the work of the direct response consultant to develop multi-channel communications and other strategies for QLF mid-level donors, achieving aggressive targets for an increase in number of donors, annual gift upgrades, and overall donor engagement and developing the program as an effective pipeline to the major gifts program.
  • Works as part of the overall QLF team to develop and execute strategies to achieve annual departmental goals.
  • Assists in team goal setting and expense management.
  • Assists Executive Director with special campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Gala and Special Events

  • Collaborates with the QLF team on the successful planning and execution of QLF’s Annual Gala and other special events.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Five to seven years of experience working in a strategic, front-line annual and/or Individual Giving fundraising position required.
  • A successful and demonstrated track record of personally identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors in a very fast-paced, mission-driven environment required.
  • Ability to navigate the demands of a data-driven direct response program required.
  • Superior social media skills and experience required.
  • A collaborative style and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment required.
  • Highly organized, creative, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize with superior time management and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines and thrive within a very fast-paced, professionally rigorous environment required.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, accurately and concisely required.
