Mobile Device Administrator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mobile Device Management (MDM) Administrator will oversee the daily operations of the organization’s (MDM) system. The MDM administrator will be used to enforce mobile device security, push software to devices and provide the library with a real time inventory of active devices. Responsible for all mobile device administration, maintenance, installation and performance optimization using specialized skills associated with enterprise based mobile device management tools. Plans and executes upgrades and patches for all MDM applications and supporting tools (IE: Databases & Web based services). Gives direct guidance to ITD infrastructure team resources in delivering daily operational support of the MDM environments. Provides direct guidance to Queens Library executive management and operational teams to ensure that all mobile devices and activations are in complete compliance with Queens Library policy and procedures. Works with ITD library software applications teams to ensure seamless integration between library applications and mobile device users. Create and manage all project planning and scheduling of all projects and work needed related to MDM for the Server and Operations Teams. Provides support to operating departments in the development of training manuals required to guide activities of staff that use or support patrons for mobile device activities. Trains trainers in the use of the mobile device application needs, creates tests scripts and documentation as assigned. Responsible for the design, deployment, installation, configuration and maintenance of windows /Unix server systems and related software and hardware. Works with Queens Library infrastructure resources in creating long-range strategic planning for system upgrades, patch management, end-user management and high availability management. Technical liaison for all aspects of vendor designed Mobile Device applications. Provides technical systems architecture assistance to the ITD Development teams in designing applications for mobile device platforms. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as required up to and including providing assistance and consultation to ITD staff in the future development of the systems platforms. Diagnoses and resolves system problems and acts as resource for other engineers and support staff when needed. Trains Users, and other staff as needed. Acts as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially with regard to problem diagnosis and resolution. Designs hardware/software, networking components, and services for systems. Analyzes performance indicators such as system response time, number of transactions per second, and number of programs being processed at once, to ensure that system is operating efficiently. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested changes to operating system are possible. Writes description of steps taken to modify system and procedures required implementing new software prepares workflow charts and diagrams to modify system software. Visits vendors to observe demonstration of systems software and to evaluate new technology. Reviews productivity reports and problem records to evaluate performance of computer system. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology with a minimum of 3 years of systems management experience and 1 year of Mobile Device Management is required. High School Diploma with 8 years of demonstrated and equivalent experience as a systems engineer will be considered. Must possess the ability to develop, evaluate and execute implementation plans by defining scope, objectives and deliverables. Must have the ability to communicate at all levels including executive management. Must have strong organizational, project management, strong written and communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems. The ability to work in diversified teams and strong technical troubleshooting and analytic skills is required.
