College Success and Test Prep Seminar

International Academic Alliance’s College Success and Test Prep Seminar is an opportunity for high school students and their parents to learn about the college-admissions process and how to succeed in college. This three-part seminar will cover how to make a college application stand out; how to get a head start on freshman year, and how to overcome first-year difficulties.

Fall Yu-Gi-Oh Tournament

Location: Flushing
Registration: Online or by phone
Availability: 16 openings

Bring your own cards (official and no Japanese versions or stall decks) to compete in our tournament for young people in grades 5-12. The winner will receive a booster pack or a choice of a limited edition card. Preregistration is required. There are only 32 spots, so sign up early; latecomers will be placed on a waiting list.

Smart Smartphone Use

In part 1, teens will learn how to download Queens Library's e-material applications for Apple and Android to their devices and upload the materials in a user-friendly environment. In part 2, teens will learn how to add to Apple iOS and Android devices New York museum apps such as the "New York Museum Guide," "Dinosaurs: American Museum of Natural History Collection" and Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA apps.

This program, presented in collaboration with Time Warner Cable, presents middle school students and their families with a medley of interactive, fun science, technology, engineering and math activities. The Aesthetics of Art and Manga

Location: Flushing

In this 2-part series, teens and tweens will learn how to view classical Asian, and Western Art as well as how to view images from Manga as Art. Part 1, Addresses how to view and interpret ancient, and classical art from the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Part 2, Addresses traditional Asian art, and its influence on Manga and Anime as art.

Each part will be followed by a short and fun Jeopardy match for review!
