Memories of Migration: Common Thread – Making a Community Story Quilt

This summer, join artist Naomi Kuo and Queens Memory to make a talking community story quilt! Program in English with Mandarin translation. Learn different styles of hand-sewing from local instructors; join a conversation about craft, family, and migration; and help make a quilt that integrates old sewing techniques and new audio technology. Tai Chi & Qi Gong Demonstration

Tai Chi and Qigong are centuries-old mind and body exercises. They involve certain postures and gentle movements with mental focus, breathing, and relaxation. Tai Chi can also be used as a form of self-defense if practiced quickly. Both practices incorporate many aspects of Chinese philosophy, culture, and concepts of traditional medicine.

Moving for Life incorporates gentle warm-ups, light aerobics, and targeted strengthening in a way that is fun and enjoyable for all! Workouts can be done seated or standing.
