Description:

Staff assess the needs of clients seeking help, and provide the necessary information or assistance in obtaining it, which may include referral to another HANAC program or outside agency. Interpretation and translation are provided for those whose command of English is limited, as well as home visits for the elderly and homebound. Typical services include help with Social Security benefits, Supplemental Security Income, welfare, Medicare and Medicaid, food stamps, unemployment, disability, landlord-tenant problems, permanent resident status, passport information, tourist and student visas and extensions, protective services, voter registration, assistance in completing various forms and navigating through various bureaucracies, and virtually anything else the needy require.
