Offers the public a wide range of programs including bilingual housing rights and entitlements counseling, tenant advocacy, workshops and seminars, and community improvement projects. COUNSELING CLINIC Bilingual counselors educate clients about right to decent affordable housing and freedom from landlord harassment, and teach clients how to assert their rights. Clients learn about government entitlements such as food stamps and Medicaid, and can receive assistance in applying for programs such as SCRIE and HEAP. OUTREACH, ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION Seminars are offered on topics such as housing rights, tenant organizing and safety issues. Bilingual literature about housing, entitlements and a variety of community services is available. A community organizing team assists tenant associations and helps them to assert their rights in housing court. COMMUNITY SERVICES Runs ESOL & Civics classes, Citizenship Preparation classes, and the Monthly Legal Clinic. Also assists with voter registration.
