Enforces the City's Human Rights Law which prohibits discrimination based on race, creed, color, age, national origin, alien age or citizenship status, gender (including sexual harassment), sexual orientation, disability, lawful occupation, arrest or conviction record, marital status, family status, and retaliation. The law prohibits discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations, as well as bias-related harassment. Protects the civil rights of the public, intervenes in crisis situations, educates the public, investigates and adjudicates individual and systemic complaints, and awards damages and orders affirmative relief.
