PARTNERS is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary clinical research program based at the Department of Psychology at St. John's University in Flushing, Queens. PARTNERS serves youth aged 3-17 who have experienced emotional stress and trauma such as traumatic bereavement, sexual abuse, and/or physical abuse. PARTNERS works in partnership with the families and communities of these children. We accept referrals from the Administration for Children's Services, Legal Aide, and various preventative agencies, as well as from caregivers and other mental health service providers (including outpatient and inpatient clinicians, caseworkers.) Services provided include evaluations to identify the areas of strength and concern in the children and families, case management and advocacy that attempts to connect the children and families with the correct community resources, and therapy for what we call the 5 C's (Coping, Confidence, Choice Making, and Conflict Resolution). All services we provide are state of the art evidence-based mental health services. In addition, PARTNERS trains professionals on the design, evaluation and provision of these services.
