Description:St. George's Society of New York is a private, independent, non-profit charitable organization. It is dedicated to helping men and women from the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth who find themselves in need, trouble, sickness, or other adversities in New York City and the Tri-State area.
Programs include aid for the elderly; emergency aid; supplementary income; advocacy through their social worker; funeral expenses; burials; hospital allowances; special comforts; emergency loans; and visitors' aid.
Eligibility Requirements:Natives of the United Kingdom and of other countries within the Commonwealth; those who served in His/Her Britannic Majesty's Armed Forces, and their wives and/or widows, regardless of birthplace or citizenship.
Admission Requirements/Documents:Must show proof of British background and proof of need.
