Description:

The Afrikan Poetry Theatre is a non-profit organization that provides a range of cultural, recreational and social programs. Among the classes offered are in capoeria (a martial art), karate, piano, and percussion.

Open microphone, African music, book signings, film presentations, and jazz concerts are among the recent cultural offerings.

Programs for teens include the Summer Youth Employment Program, writing, computer classes, and peforming arts.

Book donations for certain subjects are accepted; please call for more information.

Office Hours: Mon - Fri, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; theatre is open other hours for programs and classes.
