The Children's Center provides services to more than 200 children from birth through age 21 daily. As a source of information and referrals for families who suspect their child may developmentally delayed, the Early Childhood Direction Center is often the first link a family has to the services their child may need. The center also has an Early Intervention Program which can begin working with the child and the family soon after birth and can provide needed services until the child reaches age three. Services, including comprehensive valuations, special instruction, speech, physical, and occupational therapies, can be provided at the center, in the family's home, or at the child's day care site. When indicated, the staff uses adaptive equipment and technology to assist the child in reaching full potential.
