Description:Battered women and intimidated victims who live in New York City public housing can sometimes apply for an emergency housing transfer. Victim Services provides advocacy, counseling on domestic violence issues before and after the transfer, and guidance on how to keep the new address confidential to over 400 women a year. In addition, Victim Services works directly with NYC Housing Authority and NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development on staff trainings, operating and updating transfer procedures, and screening cases for transfer.
Hours:Mon - Fri, 9 am - 5 pm; Crisis Services are 24 hrs/7 days.
