The Queens Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. is a legal assistance program which assigns volunteer attorneys from the private sector on a pro-bono basis to residents of Queens County who have legal problems, but who cannot afford to retain an attorney. Eligibility is based on 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Assistance is provided in a number of areas including, but not limited to, landlord-tenant matters, family law cases (support, custody, visitation), uncontested divorces, denial of government benefits, immigration and consumer disputes.

Volunteer attorneys are covered by primary malpractice insurance through our program. Conference rooms (at no charge, of course) are available during weekday business hours for client meetings and pro bono service CLE credits are available for volunteer attorneys. Free training and mentoring opportunities are also available to attorneys.
