Description:MIC-Women's Health Services, a service division of Medial and Health Research Association of NYC, Inc. (MHRA), provides comprehensive reproductive health centers through its network of eight community-based centers, each with a partner hospital to ensure continuity of care. MIC provides prenatal, family planning, medical abortion, walk-in pregnancy test, HIV counseling and testing, STD screening, prevention and treatment. The providers, physicians and midwives, have full-admitting privileges in the hospital's department of obs-gyn and the obstetrician/gynecologist are board certified or eligible. MIC's patients program for pregnant women (PCAP), accepts Medicaid, commercial insurance, and provides family planning services based on income. We accept checks, cash, and major credit cards. The centers are located in Upper Manhattan, Tremont (Bx), Astoria, and Jamaica in Queens and four centers in Northern Brooklyn.
Hours:Central office is open Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm. Jamaica office is open Mon, 10:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Tue, 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Wed-Fri, 9:00 a.m.
Eligibility Requirements:Low-income women who are New York City residents are eligible. Your income must be at or below 185% of the poverty level (adjusted for family size). Teens, high-risk women, and undocumented women are all eligible for MIC services.
Admission Requirements/Documents:We require that you apply for PCAP/Medicaid. We will help you apply for PCAP/Medicaid; in most cases your application will be processed in the MIC Center.
Fees/Methods of Payment:Free, except family planning services at Astoria are on a sliding-scale, with private insurance accepted.
