Description:Hearing Loss Association of America is a volunteer organization of hard of hearing people, their relatives and friends. It is a nonprofit, non-sectarian educational organization devoted to the welfare and interests of those who cannot hear well. HLAA exists to open the world of communication for people with hearing loss through information, education, advocacy and support. Membership in the national organization offers the Hearing Loss Magazine (bimonthly); a network of chapters and groups on the local level; discounted publications; information on the Americans with Disabilities Act; annual conventions; and national programs.
Eligibility Requirements:No restrictions.
Admission Requirements/Documents:To become a member and receive Hearing Loss Magazine, request an application by telephone from the HLAA national office or write HLAA Membership, 7910 Woodmont Ave., Suite 1200, Bethesda, Md. 20814.
Fees/Methods of Payment:$25 national membership fee; $10 for chapter membership.
