Description:The League offers people who are hard of hearing and deaf access to diagnostic, rehabilitation, counseling and education programs. Programs and services include: audiology, otology, communication therapies, educational management, technical services, psychological services, mental health services, social work, career development, research/training development, recreation, publication/community outreach, and development/fund raising. A comprehensive New York City Access Resource Guide for Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and Deaf-Blind is available for persons to locate programs and services in the metro area. It is available at http://www.lhh.org/mhs/guide.htm.
Hours:Mon - Fri, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Eligibility Requirements:Persons of all ages with hearing impairments.
Admission Requirements/Documents:By appointment.
Fees/Methods of Payment:Medicare assignment, Medicare co-pay, Medicaid, private insurance, sliding-scale fees, private pay, Social worker arranged fees.
Access for People with Disabilities:Extra-wide doors; special restroom facilities; grab bars in restrooms; telephone amplifiers; flashing emergency lights; sign language; direct access building.
