Description:
Call with complaints of no heat, no hot water, leaks, maintenance problems, etc. Repeated calls are necessary. The owner must provide heat from October 1 to May 31. The indoor temperature must be at least 55 degrees between 10 PM and 6 AM whenever the outside temperature is below 40 degrees, and at least 68 degrees between 6 AM and 10 PM whenever the outside temperature is below 55 degrees. The landlord must provide hot water at all hot water outlets at a constant minimum of 120 degrees at all times. NYC Administrative Code, Section 27-2029 and 2031. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development also offers information on affordable housing throughout the city.
