Description:InTouch Networks offers a free 24-hour a day news and information broadcast for the blind or visually impaired online and through broadcast. Articles are obtained from a variety of daily newspapers, along with weekly and monthly periodicals.
The online broadcast is available worldwide without any charge. The radio broadcast can be picked up within 50 miles of Times Square in New York and requires the purchase of a InTouch radio receiver. Eligible persons who are not on Medicaid pay a one-time charge for the receiver. Please call for more information.
Hours:Office hours: Mon-Fri: 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; Radio Service is 24 hours
Eligibility Requirements:Blind, visually impaired, or physically disabled persons unable to access newspapers and magazines are eligible.
Admission Requirements/Documents:Fill out application with referring doctor's or agency's note describing nature of disability.
Fees/Methods of Payment:$125 receiver fee;. Free for people on Medicaid.
