The Senior Community Service Employment Program is a federally-sponsored employment and training program targeted to low-income older adults who want to enter or re-enter the workforce. Applicants must be unemployed, 55 years of age or older and low income.
The program offers eligible participants paid 20 hour weekly on the job training assignments in public and non-profit organizations. The goal of the program is to help participants find unsubsidized employment and achieve self-sufficiency.
Mon - Fri, 9.am - 5 pm.
Queens residents at least 55 years of age with annual income equal to or less than 125% of the federal poverty guideline are eligible. Must be considered placeable in non-subsidized employment at some point in the future.
Proof of age and documents that establish both identity and employment eligibility.
