Description:Services for the center include early childhood educational curriculum implemented by licensed certified teachers and services for children with special needs. A nutritional breakfast, lunch and snack is provided daily to meet one-half to two-thirds of a child's daily nutritional needs. Comprehensive health services, including physicals, dental care, vision, and hearing screenings. Campus childcare is provided for York College and Queensborough Community College students. Services for parents include: short term counseling, referrals, community services, and career development advocacy. Parents' participation is invited as policy makers, volunteers, exploring parenting group, and other activities.
Hours:All classes: 5 days per week, full year. Head Start: 8:30 am.-12 pm, 1pm - 4:30 pm.
Eligibility Requirements:Children aged 3-5 are eligible.
Admission Requirements/Documents:Child's birth certificate; immunization record, including H.I.B.; income verification; if receiving Social Service - food stamp ID, benefit card, proof of income; for campus child care parents, validated bursar's receipt, and class schedule. Register within each Center.
