Description:

Assists domestic violence victims in obtaining Orders of Protection and guiding them through the court processes; provides a reception center for domestic violence victims, witnesses, and victims of crimes committed by juveniles. Also provides case management, crisis intervention and counseling, children's short-term counseling, CVB compensation assistance, processing of restitution payments for victims of crimes committed by juveniles, Family Court liaison for victims who have Criminal Court and Family Court Orders of Protection, Court accompaniment and advocacy, referrals for other relevant services, Supervised Visitation program, Children's Center providing on-site day care for caretakers who must appear in court or have cases in court that day, practical and emergency assistance such as metrocards, taxis, grocery and McDonald's lunch coupons. Interpreter service available for languages other than English and Spanish.
