In SISTA and SISTA Plus (which integrates education and other supports) we work with women of color ages 21-50 who are homeless or have recently been so to give hands on help learning new skills aimed at preventing HIV infection and to improve health and well being.

The cornerstone of SISTA is a series of intensive workshops led by peers that focus on education about HIV and empowerment to take control of one's sexual safety. SISTA focuses on developing pride among participants about their gender and ethnicity, increasing their knowledge of HIV and AIDS, and improving decision-making skills.

In addition, SISTA participants receive intensive housing support from the Partnership's family advocates, to ensure that a safe, stable home is a reality for these young women.
