CHCF’s After-School Programs work with children aged 6-13 and their families at two schools: P.S. 59, The Community School of Technology, and P.S./M.S. 279, both in the Bronx. CHCF After-School programs offer safe, developmentally appropriate activities that supplement school curricula and foster children’s wellbeing and academic success. Programs include a project-based STEM curriculum; homework and long-term project support; leadership skills and work on advocacy projects related to issues in the community; violence and substance abuse prevention; literacy and math academic reinforcement; and technology programming that fosters creative thinking and self-expression.
