Description:

Since 1979, Safe Horizon has operated Community Programs in New York City to support, educate, and advocate for victims of crime and abuse. Safe Horizon operates four Community programs serving the five boroughs, providing support to more than 4,000 individuals each year. Safe Horizon’s Community Programs offer the following services: Crisis Intervention, Case Management, Practical/Emergency Assistance, Information and Referrals, Individual Counseling, Support Groups, Advocacy, and Community/Public Education Presentations. Please call the Community Program for further information and/or to make an appointment.

Directions: Take the E/J/Z to Jamaica Center - Parsons/Archer. Head west on Archer Avenue toward 153rd Street. Turn right onto 153rd Street. Turn left onto Jamaica Avenue.

Admission Requirements/Documents:

If you are interested in receiving services at any Safe Horizon Community Program site, it’s as easy as 1 - 2 - 3:
1.Call the Safe Horizon Community Program Helpline 1-855-234-1042 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. If you call when the office is closed, leave a voice mail message and someone will get back to you on the next business day.
2.Talk with an intake specialist about your needs and questions.  The intake specialist will provide information about Safe Horizon programs, answer your questions, and link you to the program that best meets your needs.
3.Make an appointment. If the Community Program is the right fit for you, the Intake Specialist will set up an appointment for you at the nearest Community Program site.
