WANY

The We Are New York Program, developed by the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, is a ten week program designed to help immigrant New Yorkers practice every day English, while learning about important NYC resources. Through the guidance of facilitators, adults watch episodes each week that address health and wellness, education, financial literacy, starting a business, friendship and emergency preparedness. Following the viewing of the weekly video participants are then engaged in a lively discussion. Students that attend a minimum of 7 out of the 10 sessions receive a certificate signed by Mayor De Blasio.
