Children's Room, Queens Library at Broadway, to Close Temporarily

Monday, September 8, 2014

To prepare for major renovations, the Children's Room at Queens Library at Broadway will be closed from Monday, September 8 through Saturday, September 13.

A temporary Children’s Room will open on the lower level on Monday, September 15. It will provide limited library service while the Children’s Room is being renovated. The main floor of the library will remain open and available throughout construction.

The new Children's Room will feature more customer service space, a self-check station, more computers for children, new décor, brand new furniture and a fun new feature unique to the borough’s libraries: a fully operational model train set circulating the front of the room on tracks suspended overhead! Construction is expected to take approximately four months.

The Queens Library joins the community in thanking New York State Assembly Member Cathy Nolan, New York State Assembly Member Marge Markey, New York City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer and the State of New York for funding improvements to this library.
