American Journeys

A collection of documents pertaining to the colonization of the American continents, from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Wisconsin Historical Society. Documents are arranged into chronological order. You can find works about specific explorers, expeditions, or geographic areas by using the internal search engine. After finding a specific document you can view it or make a further search inside the document using the same search engine. It has also a searchable collection of images.

Lewis and Clark Expedition

The Expedition was one of the most important explorations in U.S. history. PBS maintains this searchable site based in large part on the Ken Burns film, Lewis & Clark: the Journey of the Corps of Discovery. You can search the site, look ‘Inside the Corps,’ use the interactive trail map or even lead the expedition yourself.
