Temporary Closings


Queens Library at Rochdale Village at 169-09 137th Avenue will close temporarily at the end of business August 2 while the roof is replaced. Read more.

Queens Library at Sunnyside at 43-06 Greenpoint Avenue is closed temporarily for roof repair. Find out more.

Queens Library at Lefferts to Close Temporarily for New Roof


Queens Library at 103-34 Lefferts Boulevard in Richmond Hill will close temporarily at the end of business on July 26 for the installation of a new roof. During the closure, limited service will be provided by the mobile library. Details will be announced. Customers are also invited to use any of Queens Library's other facilities. The closest are at 118-14 Hillside Avenue in Richmond Hill; 92-24 Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park and 128-16 Rockaway Boulevard in South Ozone Park. 

The project is being managed by the New York City Department of Design and Construction. The library is expected to re-open for public service by the end of September.

Funding for these welcome improvements was provided by NYC Council Member Ruben Wills and the Queens Borough President.


Rosedale Library Temporarily Closed for Renovations


Queens Library at 144-20 243rd Street in Rosedale is temporarily closed for renovations. It is expected to re-open to customer service in early fall.

During the temporary closure, the Mobile Library will be providing limited service on Wednesdays from 8:30 - 5. Library customers are also invited to use any other Queens Library location or to visit www.queenslibrary.org.

Arverne Library Has Re-Opened


Queens Library at 312 Beach 54 Street has been rebuilt and re-opened for public service on March 18. More good news: the modular building that has been temporarily in service during the rebuilding will remain in place and temporarily house an Adult Learning Center, offering a full menu of adult education and job skills services.

A grand opening celebration will be held on Friday, April 18 at 11 am. Everyone is invited!
