An empowering adaptation by Eisa Davis (2006 Pulitzer Prize Finalist),
"Warriors Don’t Cry" chronicles the true-life story of Melba Beals, a prominent figure in the Little Rock Nine. This historical account contains strong language not appropriate for small children. Parental guidance is recommended.

Birds of a Feather
[Add to My Events]
Queens Library & Alley Pond Environmental Center Presents "Birds Of a Feather."
This program will introduce students to the world of birds. Children will explore the adaptations birds have developed to survive in different ecosystems, their life cycle and predator/prey relationships. Students learn these concepts and develop their observation skills while examining feathers, eggs, nest, skulls and talons. Space is limited; preregistration is required. For ages 6-12.
