SYMPHONY 101: World of Winds- A Performance/Workshop for the Entire Family  [Add to My Events]
Queens Symphony Orchestra and their music director Constantine Kitsopoulos teach children and adults about the different families in the traditional symphonic orchestra through musical demonstrations and dialogue. Today's performance covers the instruments in the woodwind family (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon) Be sure to attend the next program in this session that covers instruments in the brass family on March 6th and the percussion family on April 3rd.

Celebrating Chopin on the 200th Anniversary of His Birth with Dr. Albert Zak, Pianist  [Add to My Events]
Born in Canada and the son of Polish immigrants, Albert Zak began playing piano at age 4 and was, at that time, the youngest person enrolled in the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. At this concert, Dr. Zak will honor Chopin and perform his following pieces: "Nocturne Op. 48 nr.1," "Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante Op. 22," "Sonata, Op. 35 (Funeral March)", and "Sonata, Op. 58." *In Auditorium, Lower Level*
