Queens
Library Gallery
Established
in 1995, the Gallery is an adjunct to the Queens Borough Public Library,
which serves the neighborhoods of Queens, the country's most culturally
diverse community. Located in the Central Library in Jamaica, the Gallery
offers museum-quality exhibitions and arts education activities designed
to complement library services. Each year the Gallery presents several
exhibitions which explore history, art, literature, children's themes
or ethnic culture. Its mission is to foster awareness and appreciation
of the visual arts and encourage an understanding and sensitivity for
the arts in the greater community.
