The Langston Hughes Community Library and Cultural Center, part of the Queens Borough Public Library system, provides a wealth of resources for customers pursuing in-depth studies of African-American history. It houses the Black Heritage Reference Center of Queens County, which features more than 20,000 volumes of circulating and reference materials written about and related to black culture. It is one of the largest such collections on the East Coast.
