Join us at the Queens Library Gallery to learn more about our current exhibition Cuba Oriente: Contemporary Painting from Eastern Cuba. Cuba Oriente features 60 colorful paintings and woodcuts created by 14 artists residing in the Oriente (eastern) region of Cuba. Class visits include a group tour and discussion of the artworks on exhibit, and a craft activity. Group tours can be geared toward any age group. Use this exhibition to generate classroom discussion regarding:

  • Cuban art, geography and culture
  • Contemporary Cuban life
  • Storytelling through images
  • Painting and printmaking as art forms
