CAROL WARNER

Carol Warner finds images in magazines and weaves them together by hand. This composite engages the viewer in an impossible process of decoding. The materials remind the viewer how media representations are incorporated into everyday life and create a series of intricate patterns and relationships that shape cultural experiences. Subjecting mechanical reproductions to manual techniques is an integration of Warner's Native American heritage with contemporary cultural sensibilities and representations.

Carol Warner received her MFA in Photography and Related Technology from Parsons School of Design and her BA in Visual Art from Douglass College/Rutgers University. She currently lives and works in New York City.
