Project Art

Project Art, for ages 8- 12, introduces children to the history and vocabulary of art, encouraging them to develop their creative and problem-solving skills through hands-on art activities led by experienced teaching artists. At the end of the program, student work will be displayed at a professional art gallery. Preregistration is required.

In this 10-session series, children ages 8-12 will work with a teaching artist to learn the basic elements of design in various media, including painting, collage, and drawing. Book Discussion Group

We will discuss "Book of Ages: The Life and Opinions of Jane Franklin" by Jill Lepore, a revelatory portrait of Benjamin Franklin's youngest sister, Jane, whose obscurity and poverty were matched only by her brother’s fame and wealth.
