Ebru Art Classes with Mustafa Yasar (In Turkish and English)

Learn the Turkish art of ebru. Paper marbling (ebru) is the art of creating colorful patterns by sprinkling and brushing color pigments on a pan of oily water and then transferring this pattern to paper. Individual sessions every Saturday, 6/24, 7/22, 8/26, 9/23, 10/28, 11/25 @ 2:30 p.m. Participants must register for each session starting two weeks ahead of the program date either in person at Sunnyside or by calling 718-784-3033. Limited to the first 10 applicants per session.

Emergency Preparedness and Prevention

Everyone wants to keep themselves and their loved ones safe, especially during emergency situations. Come learn about strategies every household should be aware of, like how to prepare a “go bag” in the event of weather or disaster-related emergencies. There will be also be a discussion of common household accidents and injuries, led by Dr. Stuart Kessler, the Chief of Emergency Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, and Emergency Department physician, Dr. Laura Lavicoli.
