Sewing Lab

We explore a variety of sewing techniques in a creative space while visiting, inspiring and helping each other. Several sewing machines are provided. Adults and teens at all levels of experience are welcome. We meet every Friday except holidays.

Design, Build, Sit! Chair Masters Design Studio

Learn fundamentals of structure, force and resistance as you design and construct a life-size model chair out of cardboard, capable of supporting the weight of a person. This program made possible by funding from National Grid.

A Saturday Afternoon with Rock Radio Legend Ken Dashow

Location: Central Library
Registration: Not required

Meet veteran New York rock radio personality Ken Dashow, who worked at WNEW-FM for 17 years and then joined Q-104, where his afternoon drive-time show is rated Number 1 in New York City. He also hosts Q-104’s popular Sunday morning show “Breakfast with the Beatles,” where he plays requests, shares stories about the Fab Four, and has interviewed everyone from Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to Yoko Ono and May Pang.
