Ralph McDaniels Twitter Chat

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent live Twitter chat with Queens Library's Hip Hop Coordinator, Ralph McDaniels!

In case you missed it, you can read our Storify recap of this fun and educational discussion about the past, present, and future of hip hop.

We also hope you will join Queens Library at the street naming ceremony for hip hop legend Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor on Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. on the corner of Linden Boulevard and 192nd Street in St. Albans.

Born and raised in St. Albans, Phife Dawg mentioned Linden Boulevard several times in A Tribe Called Quest songs like “Check The Rhime” and “Steve Biko.”

You can stop by the Queens Library table at the street naming ceremony and get information about diabetes prevention and care from our Community Health Educator and the American Diabetes Association. (Phife Dawg passed away in March 2016 due to complications from diabetes.)

And don’t forget to come to the St. Albans Community Library afterwards—it's on Linden Boulevard too, just one block away! (We’re pretty sure Phife paid us a visit back in the day.)
