Lunar New Year 2019

Xin Nian Kuai Le! Join us as we celebrate the Lunar New Year at Queens Library!

The Lunar New Year is a centuries-old tradition in China and several other Asian countries, and it is a time to honor deities and ancestors, as well as make way for good fortune in the upcoming year.

This year, the holiday falls on Tuesday, February 5, and it’s the Year of the Pig, the 12th animal of the Chinese zodiac.

We’re hosting a number of Lunar New Year events, including arts and crafts, puppet shows, concerts, teleconferences, and more.

We’re also marching for the second year at the Flushing Lunar New Year Parade on Saturday, February 9. We can’t wait to see you out there!
