I’d like to update you on our ongoing strategic planning initiative, begun last December to develop a comprehensive plan to guide Queens Library for the next five years.
The first phase of the process, during which we surveyed a variety of stakeholders, including the general public and our staff, customers, volunteers, Board of Trustees and elected officials, comes to a close today.
I am delighted to report that we received more than 5,700 responses to the various surveys, including more than 4,700 responses to our community survey, available since January in English, Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Korean, Urdu, Polish, Russian, Haitian-Creole and Arabic. Thank you very much for your input and participation to date. We will be carefully analyzing all the survey data and using it to inform our thinking as we move ahead.
During the next few months, we will convene open houses and discussion groups across the borough so we can understand more deeply how to serve you better. We will announce the schedule and locations here on the website very soon. Please stay tuned.
Again, thank you for supporting Queens Library and helping us chart a course for our future. Your voice matters.
