Urban Library Council Selects Queens Library as aTop Innovator  in Adult Learning

The 2016 Top Innovators and Honorable Mentions were presented during a special Innovations Celebration on October 6.  Award winners were chosen by a panel of expert judges who considered nearly 270 submissions in 10 categories that supported U.S. and Canadian public library programs focused on education, digital inclusion, healthy communities and library operations.  Queens Library is the Top Innovator in Adult Learning for 2016.  "Helping Adults Finally Achieve that High School Diploma"

Queens Library, Brooklyn Public Library and NY Public Library Win Second Place in LibraryAware  Community Award

Three communities are recipients of the 2016 LibraryAware Community Award given by Library Journal and underwritten by LibraryAware™, a product of the NoveList division of EBSCO Information Services. The Louisville Free Public Library in Kentucky was the first place recipient; the Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library and the Queens Public Library entered jointly and took second place; third place went to Cranston Public Library in Rhode Island.
