Bridget Quinn-Carey is the Interim President and CEO of Queens Library. She joined Queens Library as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Prior to joining Queens Library, Ms. Quinn-Carey was Director of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System. She is a former member and Chair of the New York State Regents Advisory Council on Libraries. Ms. Quinn-Carey earned her BA from SUNY Binghamton and both an MLS and an MBA from St. John’s University. She has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma (which honors academic achievement in the study of business) and Sigma Iota Epsilon, a business management fraternity. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Kupferberg Center for the Arts. She is a member of the American Library Association, the Public Library Association, and the New York Library Association and Beta Phi Mu. She was honored with The New York Times Librarian Award in 2003.
In assuming her position, Ms. Quinn-Carey said, “Queens Library has a critical mission to provide information and education. It has long been a model of excellence. I look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, our elected officials and colleagues at all levels of the organization, including our union, to build on the library’s outstanding work. There are 2.3 million people depending on it.”
