Queens Library helps enrich lives. You’ll see that themeline on the cover, but it isn’t just a slogan. It’s what we do.
Toddlers take the first shaky steps toward literacy at Queens Library story hours. Children learn to love books and reading. Seniors enhance physical and mental fitness. Teens get off the street and play chess or read poetry instead. Customers use the library’s computers to e-mail or prepare the resumé that will land the job. Adults who live with the silent shame of illiteracy finally learn to read at the Adult Learning Center. Students of all ages use library resources to write a report, prepare for an exam, learn English, learn to use a computer.
Everyone who comes to Queens Library leaves with more than they had.
